Bob Lama is the President and founder of Miami International Yacht Sales. He is an experienced yachtsman with a successful business background. After graduating from Binghamton University Bob embarked on a career in the financial services and commercial real estate industries. He formed one of the largest commercial real estate brokerages in Upstate NY, LAMA REAL ESTATE while overseeing his insurance brokerage L.A. LAMA INSURANCE. The insurance operation was acquired by First Niagara Financial Group (FNFG). After that Bob served as Executive Vice President and member of the leadership group overseeing one of the countries largest insurance brokerages with over $600,000,000 in annual sales. Bob brought these business skills to the yachting industry and established one of the fastest growing yacht brokerages in the Miami area.
Professional Race Car Driver, Entrepreneur & Athlete. These three words describe Chapman Ducote’s myriad pursuits over the past two decades.
After graduating from the University of Miami in three years, Chapman Ducote accepted an investment banking position with Jeffries & Company in New York City for a brief one-year stint before he went on to money management and day trading with CIBC Oppenheimer in Texas. Chapman returned to Miami Beach and embarked on a series of successful deals, ranging from real estate investing and developing (with projects including the Brooklyn Hotel, the Pelican Garage, Iguana Point, and Coral Cay – a private island in the Bahamas) to building and maintaining several of his own companies
Currently, Chapman Ducote is the President and CEO of Merchant Services LTD, a full scale, vertically integrated credit card processing company headquartered in the heart of Miami Beach. Founded by Chapman in 2005, Merchant Services LTD has grown to over 500 employees and is a tier one merchant service processor that is certified by Visa/MasterCard and is a leading provider of merchant processing solutions and products nationwide and internationally. Chapman Ducote, Director of the Americas for Delta Powerboats, brings a lifetime of experience with boats of all sizes and a true passion for the business of yachting.
Ian Miller’s background includes a diverse and intense educational background including conceiving the molecular genetics degree path at the Honors College at the University of Florida (UF). There, Ian first gained a background in genetics, horticulture, and accounting. Ian’s first degree is a Bachelor of the Arts in Architectural and Industrial Design with a concentration in Accounting, Summa Cum Laude. His second degree, also from UF, is a Master’s of Science in Building Construction, Summa Cum Laude. Entering the job market at the beginning of the international financial collapse of 2008, Ian found great success in managing ultra-high-end construction projects in the Miami Beach area, specifically Bal Harbour executing extremely detailed projects up to $18,000 per m2.
After a variety of increasing-responsibility positions in the construction industry, including founding two successful construction firms, Ian joined Merchant Services LTD as a Vice President and a macro-procurement specialist. Ian and Chapman have since lead the growth of Merchant Services while engaging in multiple investment enterprises including real estate holdings, property development, a yacht company, and a stint as part of the Alpha (founding) Team of Loop, Inc., now known as Samsung Pay. At Loop, Ian ran an extremely successful Kickstarter-based crowdfunding campaign and provided form factor design, consulting and initial fabrication. Ian Miller, VP of the North American Sales Channel for Delta Powerboats, brings immense technical competency and a uniquely customer-centric business style.
Kevin currently serves as Director of Operations for Delta Powerboats Americas. Utilizing his broad knowledge base, he is primed to help both novice and experienced yacht owners in their search for the perfect vessel. With 9 years of hands-on experience he understands what it takes to deliver the true yachting experience. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts with degrees in Economics, and Latin American + Caribbean Cultural Studies, he began a career as a yacht crew member in 2007. Kevin has served in a myriad of positions during his time aboard yachts, ranging in size from 80’-220’. While serving in these positions he has obtained a USCG 200 Ton License, MCA approved engine certification, and a PADI Dive Instructor/Master Scuba Diver Trainer certificate, along with several other industry certifications.
Peggy assists in all administrative and financial elements for our yacht transactions. She is a graduate of Ithaca College. She is a successful commercial real estate broker and developer. She brings her management and accounting skills to Miami International Yacht Sales. Peggy has a lifetime of yachting experience. Among her talents are yacht handling, decor and staging.
Michael Lama received his B.A. from The University of South Florida and Cornell University. Michael completed his Medical Degree at the University of Miami Medical School and went on to obtain his specialty in Anesthesiology. Currently he is a practicing Anesthesiologist however his love for the sea and navigating has drawn him to the world of yacht brokering. Michael lived aboard a yacht while studying at the University of Miami. Since then his love for yachting has continued to grow. Michael is a true asset to Miami International Yacht Sales handling our operations on the west coast of Florida.
